The Dawnbreakers’ Saga begins with Intonation, the story of Ardenius Whelk – a multi-talented Imperial runemage, archaeologist, and archaeo-linguist – who, already on his way north to Skyrim to join in an expedition at the College of Winterhold, receives a mysterious letter from a man who shouldn’t know who he is. From there on, Arden becomes wrapped up in favors, politics, scheming, and Daedric shenanigans, until he finally makes it to the College and finds himself face-to-face with a former lover turned Thalmor Agent. From there, his story takes one heartbreaking turn after another, as the bright-hearted and jovial man who walked through the Pale Pass stares into the abyss of grief.
