Here’s what happened this month in the Dawnbreakers’ Saga:
Entry 22 – Kinua, Esbern, and Delphine set out from Riverwood into the Karth River Canyon in search of an old Akiviri stronghold, Sky Haven Temple. They find the place guarded by a dragon and a camp full of Forsworn, all of which the team dispatch with haste. Once inside, they make their way through a blood-locked door and come face-to-face with Alduin’s Wall, and the prophecy foretold thereon. After an argument with Delphine, Kinua steps into the stronghold’s gardens, and finds a peace she has only felt before in dreams.
Entry 23 – Meanwhile in Riften, Zaytest and Brynjolf join Karliah in the Hall of the Nightengale, in order to transact an oath with Nocturnal. Despite some initial misgivings about the whole posthumous servitude thing, Zaytest becomes a Nightengale, and heads to Irkngthand to confront Mercer Frey, and exact her own revenge.
Entry 24 – After sorting out a plan of action with Ingrath and Serana, Arden heads back to the College of Winterhold to track down an Elder Scroll. Along the way, he confesses to a bit of pining for his bosmer associate, and manages to take down a werebear. When he arrives and asks Urag for help, he points Arden to the outpost of a madman named Septimus Signus. After a brief stop to have a chat with Ancano’s ashes, Arden learns about an Elder Scroll supposedly hidden in the depths of Blackreach. On his somewhat fatalistic return, he finds a visitor waiting by the bridge with whom he has a chat about Ayleid funeral rites, immortality, and love.
Entry 25 – Having found and activated the portal in Valerica’s lab, Ingrath and Serana step into the Soul Cairn to track down the woman and her Elder Scroll. Along the way they run into many an unfortunate soul that came afoul of necromancers, as well as a skeletal horse named Arvak. Once they’ve found Valerica, they set out again on a mission to destroy the Keepers, in order to lower the prison’s barriers and free Serana’s mother.
It was a busy, emotional month for the Breakers! Join us in March to watch Jarnvida fight for the soul of Kodlak the Harbinger, Kinua meet the Master of the Graybeards, Zaytest earn Nocturnal’s favor back for the guild, and Ingrath get a new nickname.
